I have learned so much through working with these amazing kids in the classroom for nine years.  Although popular opinion is that these kids can not have meaningful relationships with others, my experience is quite to the contrary.  My students and I each have our own unique relationship.  We laugh, learn, and share experiences each day.  I have come to realize that although this is fantastic, the best thing for these children is to have this type of relationship with their parents.  The teacher/student relationship is nothing in comparison to the lifelong teaching experience a parent has with their child.  RDI® is the road map of the journey to accomplish just that.  My goal is to empower committed families to develop experience sharing relationships with their child who has ASD.  This will prepare them for friendships, and later success in the community.  Let’s begin the journey, together.
